The game is set in Shibuya, a fashionable district of Tokyo, Japan. The World Ends with You takes place in a parallel spirits’ world version of Shibuya, called the Underworld. In the Game, souls of recently deceased people can cooperate by fighting monsters called “Noises” that represent the negative energy of the human minds. The players have to put at stake the thing they cherish the most, be it their body, best friends, or memory. If the player wins the Game, he or she may choose to become alive again or to become a new Reaper. The player controls Neku, who is usually followed by a companion, as they walk through various locations in the Underworld of Shibuya and fights monsters. The plot is delivered through numerous cutscenes stylized as colorized manga pages. The Japanese street fashion and culture have a great influence on the gameplay. Wearing certain popular brands can grant the main character the upper hand in combat. Neku can also make a brand fashionable by winning battles while wearing it.###Final Remix
